Hello!

So, it's been waaaay to long. Even though nobody reads this, i feel it's my duty to put something here once in a while (awhile?).

So, if you haven't been going to the films of STIFF then you are missing out. We have an entry into the Weekend Film Challenge and it's been a blast. The best part about being in the fest is the cool pass i get. i've seen films about a family of Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) that terrorize a couple of high school grads. i'm going to be seeing a movie about killing on camera called, "Snuff".

And of course, the closing night party. Burlesque, alcohol, comedy.......yup.

And, i'm heading to Las Vegas next week to hopefully finish up interviews for a documentary i've been working on for a little longer than eternity. Should be fun.

Also, remember SUCK Films!? Come on by every first Tuesday of the month so's you can get your drinks and MST3K style movie watching on......please.

Tuesday, July 3rd was the very first SUCK Films Show! "Dead Alive" worked it's magic and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We even had a SUCKer leave during the dinner scene. Way to go! We're still not sure which movie is coming up next, but hopefully soon we'll get the voting up on the SUCK Site.
So, keep it in mind.....every first Tuesday of the month, SUCK Films will take over the Rendezvous and show another movie. Please come on down and have alot of drinks with us.
By the way, congratulations to Damon, Brooke and Bear. They all won a prize at the raffle. If you want to see some pics of the night, they're up on the site in the photo galleries.
And if you like the poster up there, super big thanks to Donna for making the SUCK Logo. Also, thanks to me, for hacking away at Photoshop and coming up with something that's not half bad!
See you all next first Tuesday at the Rendezvous......that's not a request!

Tray White

Well hello there. Last night was probably the best night at the STIFF so far. The shorts were a nice mix of movies topped off with the super funny "I'm Keith Hernanadez". A comical look at the formal All-Star first baseman with the NY Mets. Check out Rob Perri's masterpiece at his official site.
The feature film was a compelling look at Mr. Jonathon Sharkey, in "Impaler". A fellow who has a pocket full of hope as he runs for the position of Governor of Minnesota. Oh yeah, he's also a vampire. (of course, he pronounces it "Vampeere", sheesh). This hard to believe documentary follows him from almost the very beginning of his campaign. You'll get to see the interviews and even get a peek at his former professional wrestling career. OH YEAH! Filmmaker Tray White (above) managed to capture the ups and (way)downs of his run. You'll have to see it to believe it.

Seriously Good Stalker Movie

Well, I watched the STIFF showing of "For Love & Stacie" last night at the Rendezvous, and wow! It's a great story about a guy whose girlfriend 'needs some time apart'. We are introduced to the guy, a flimmaker, who decides to make a movie about Stacie and their relationship in an attempt to win her back. The guy is kind of goofy and although he has not lost hope, as a viewer it is pretty obvious the situation is hopeless. I know this really doesn't sound all that interesting, but it is very well done and if you have ever been dumped, you will surely empathize with the filmmaker. However things turn pretty dark, and then they get much darker. Maybe I really don't empathize with the filmmaker? Check out the filmakers page and visit his follow the link to his myspace page for more info. "www.undergroundplanet.com"

Another day at STIFF

Well howdy.

Just wanted to give you all an update about what you missed last night at the Rendezvous.

Fist off, there was a block of shorts.

An experimental stop motion thingy called "Soul Collector". It was pretty darn good. Some chick getting recruited to fight for the army of god. Which i guess is a good gig if you can get it.

"The Glove" was a short that had a ton nerdy side jokes about video games and computers. They get bonus points, however, for using what looked like to me the nintendo power glove.

"Quicksand and Carpet" was a music video for a band called New Radiant Storm King. The premise of the video had newspaper headlines zooming all over the screen through a.....micro thingy...(?) (you know).....(those things at the library)......(hell). It was really cool, good effects and nice pacing. My thumb is pointing up.

"Ein Blue Ribbon"......about PBR. The beer. And also about some mafia type bad guys, and another bad guy and a girl. And a car. Pretty good.

"Black Daisy" were just about the funniest thing i've seen. In a long time. Really. If you've never heard of them that's too bad. If you looked hard you might be able to find some info on them somewhere. I guess they're going to be playing at Chop Suey on July 9th. If i were you i might try to be there.

After the shorts, a feature doc called "The Briefs" about...well, the band The Briefs. Very well done and very funny. Evidently, this was a rough cut but i couldn't tell. Look for it in very big relase later this year. (Even at Hot Topic....unless he was telling a joke.....in which case, i'm an ass).

i guess that's about it.

Maybe i'll see some of you guys at the Rendezvous this week!

The STIFF

<IMG SRC="http://www.peek-productions.com/images/FestivalLogo.jpg"

Well, hopefully by now you've made plans to get to the Rendezvous on Sunday June 3rd. If not, make them......i'll wait.

Done? Good.

See you Sunday.

Here's a list of things that i've seen at the STIFF so far:

Girl Trouble Burlesque were a fun girly show. They not only danced around in their skivvies, but they tied the whole show together with a video that played in between the dancing. i would be on the lookout for them.

KLED rocked the Jewel Box. The shitty part about it is, no one was there. Seriously.....5 of us got to watch a great show, and the best part was "Road House" played in the background while they played. It was fun.

Really though, don't listen to me....check out the scedule here and see the stuff yourself. Some of the highlight to look for:
A mockumentary on an aspiring cabbie in...well, "Cabbie"; Christian Slater and William H. Macy in "He was a Quiet Man"; a modern day vampire runs for office in a documentary called "Impaler"; and of course the best 44 minute move about soup and piss in the whole festival, Soup.
So, click on the link, check out the schedule and read paragraph at the top of the schedule and be amazed at the amazing words spat out about SOUP. Thanks Kevin.

Also, go to this video for the Seattle Channel. In it, you'll see a 7 minute interview with Kevin Gilbert, the Program Director for the STIFF. Then, buckle in. After that, he picks a few movies out of the hundreds from the festival....and yes, SOUP is mentioned. So have fun with that.

OK, i'm done whoring out STIFF.

SUCK Films starts the first Tuesday of July (the 3rd). It will be fun.....i think.

Pre-production is rolling on the next project. It's a documentary, so i'll keep the subject quiet for right now, but trust me, this one is going to be cool.

That's it for now.
see ya soon.

Ok, everyone, it's officially up and running. What, Dan? What's up and running? Well, i'll tell ya. The schedule is up at True Independent, the official site for the STIFF. You can go there and buy tickets and passes and all that jazz. So, get yer behind over there and support the damn festival......please...?

Also, if you have not heard yet, we are planning to get the S.U.C.K. films site up and running soon. When it's up, you can click over there, figure out just how to attend our once a month shows and get your cheesy movie fix taken care of. It'll be cheap and maybe even somewhat democratic.

STIFF and SUCK

Well hi everybody.
So, the schedule for the Seattle True Independent Film Festival will be up May 1 (i think). You should head over there and check out our time. Now.

For those of you who didn't take off to their site, i'll tell you that we're playing at the Rendezvous (again) on Sunday June 3. We're playing in a block that begins at 6 p.m. So there. Show up. Cheer real loud for Soup. Ask everyone if they know who made, "that cool movie about soup and pee".

In other news, PEEK Productions is proud to announce the formation of a new movie club. SUCK Films will soon be up and running. The plan is to have a show once a month, a message board or two and just some all around cheese and film. i will post more as SUCK evolves. By the way SUCK is Seattle's Unapologetically Cheesy Kinescopic Films. Get it? SUCK!! wow. More news soon.

I guess that's about it for now.

But, regardless, i guess it's time to tell everyone that the funding has taken a nose dive for our upcoming project. It seems that the budget was just too big for us to get totally taken care of. i want to make sure to say to anyone who was scheduled to audition with us, we're really sorry about all this. So, to recap.....1) no one reads this. 2) our project is dead in the water 3) we will do our best to not let it happen again.

Hey All,
Afer a LONG vacation, it's back to work. Coming up this next weekend, we start auditions for our next movie. Which by the way, finally has a title. You ready? Here it comes.....now: Psychosis
Not bad, eh? Or at least it's kinda good.

So the auditions are filled to capacity (that's if everyone shows up *crosses fingers*). So we could be seeing as many as 60 people. Maybe one of 'em is you. Who knows?
i'll be posting on here and trying to give y'all updates about the movie. And posting a pic or two of the progress.

In other news, Peter Gilthvedt or P-fiddy Cent as he's known has done some work on our script. So, when you see P-fiddy on the street, say to him, "Hey man, nice work". Hell, buy him a beer while you're at it.

Talk to you real soon,

Hey all.

So, right now PEEK is in pre-production for our newest venture. This one is shaping up to be a feature length project and the schedule will be somewhat grueling. That being said, who wants to help? i know that more than a few people have offered to help out on any projects we have in the works and this is your chance. So, please contact me and let me know if you would like to help out, because we can always use some assistance.

In other news, special thanks to Warren Etheridge from the Warren Report for letting us use some of his words for our home page.
